Message from the President
The Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators in Texas (AMTE-TX) celebrated our tenth anniversary last year. We are a vibrant and growing organization concerned with the education and development of preservice and in-service mathematics teachers. Our members are mathematics teacher educators from a diversity of settings, including four-year universities, community colleges, and K-12 school districts.
As a member of AMTE-TX, you will be a part of a community that has a shared goal of advancing and advocating for mathematics teacher education in the state. The organization has a variety of venues for communication and collegiality. We host a strand of sessions each summer at the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT), organize an Annual Fall Conference, and publish an online journal, Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education in Texas (JMTET).
To learn more, explore our website and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. I encourage you to become a member of AMTE-TX and take advantage of the many opportunities for active involvement in the organization.
