AMTE-TX Fall Conference Travel Award – Graduate Student
The AMTE-TX Fall Conference Travel Award – Graduate Student annually provides graduate students financial support to attend the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference. The award includes a stipend to supplement the cost of attending the conference. To qualify, an applicant must be a graduate student in mathematics education (or related field), a member of AMTE-TX (conference registration includes membership dues), and an attendee of the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference. Details regarding the application will be disseminated to the membership each spring.
What you will submit: In no more than 250 words, describe your professional background and your future goals as a mathematics teacher educator.
AMTE-TX Fall Conference Travel Award – Early Career/New-to-State
The AMTE-TX Fall Conference Travel Award – Early Career/New-to-State provides mathematics teacher educators, who are early in their career or new to Texas, financial support to attend the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference. Awardees will receive a stipend to support the cost of attending the conference. To qualify, an applicant must be in an entry-level position (0 to 3 years) or in a new position in Texas (0 to 3 years) in the field of mathematics teacher education, a member of AMTE-TX (conference registration includes membership dues), and an attendee of the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference.
What you will submit: In no more than 250 words, describe your professional background and your future goals as a mathematics teacher educator in Texas.
AMTE-TX Outstanding Service Award
The AMTE-TX Outstanding Service Award honors a member of AMTE-TX who has made significant contributions to the field of mathematics teacher education. To qualify, an applicant or nominee must be a member of AMTE-TX. Self-nominations are encouraged.
What you will submit:
• A description of the nominee’s involvement with AMTE-TX.
• A description of the ways in which the nominee’s teaching, service, and/or research has contributed to mathematics teacher education.

AMTE-TX President’s Council Scholarship
The AMTE-TX President’s Council Scholarship supports membership dues in both AMTE-TX and AMTE for one year. Additionally, annual awardees will have the opportunity for mentorship by members of the AMTE-TX President’s Council (composed of all past presidents of AMTE-TX) which begins at the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference.
AMTE-TX will award this scholarship for the upcoming AMTE-TX Fall Conference to:
• One early-career faculty member
• One graduate student each year
These scholarships are designed to offer support for membership in these organizations as well as encourage service in the organization. Recipients will be required to volunteer their service through committee membership, leadership, review of conference presentations, or other applicable service during that designated year. Recipients will be required to attend the next AMTE-TX Fall Conference to share service experiences from the previous year.
To qualify, an applicant must be a graduate student in mathematics education (or related field) during the year of the award OR must be in an entry-level position (0 to 3 years) or in a new position in Texas (0 to 3 years) in the field of mathematics teacher education.
What you will submit:
• An essay of no more than 500 words outlining how this scholarship could support participation in both AMTE-TX and AMTE. Describe the projected service opportunities that might be of interest and how these can benefit you.
• Two letters of recommendation are required as part of the application, and at least one of these letters must be from a current member of AMTE-TX. For graduate students, at least one must be from a faculty advisor who can provide details about status in the program.
